Kent Finance Supports the Insolvency Sector with Financial Modelling Solutions & Targeted Recruitment

In the past year we have been delighted to have strengthened our network in the Insolvency Sector, reaching out to over 1,200 IPs and creating relationships with many firms. We have had strong interest, particularly from mid-tier specialist firms who quickly saw the opportunity to increase their market share by making a greater number of opportunities possible through our consultancy support.

How have we been helping firms like yours?

Our Financial Management Consultancy team have been busy throughout 2020 supporting IPs and their clients. Short Term Cash Flow Forecasting has been in high demand due to the value for money, speed of deployment and the immediacy of control it offers. We have been also surprised by the number of requests for longer term Business Planning Models. This leads us to believe one of two things: either businesses were running without a model in place, or it was simply not fit for purpose, or user friendly enough to be adopted by staff. Either way our product has been seen as a marked improvement in line of sight for the banks and creditors and as a lifeline to the clients themselves.

The most important factors in all of the briefs we have had to date in this sector is speed of action, coupled with quality of outcomes. We are delighted to see a lot of repeat business and having seen over 30% annual growth in turnover, we are now expanding our team of consultants further – a big success.

Our Recruitment Consultancy Practice, whilst quiet during Lockdown in respect of our traditional client base of PE backed and entrepreneur backed businesses, has seen an uptick in supporting growth within service sectors. As the whole IP sector feels pressure to take on more work, this has also included supporting Insolvency Practices in growing their teams.

As a case study, having established a strong working relationship with Buchler Phillips, we were engaged on an exciting project to support their next phase of growth and development. Currently in their third iteration of this successful firm, Buchler Phillips is led by a team of experienced, entrepreneurial partners who have a track record of creating some of the fastest growing practices in the UK. Identifying the best talent across the IP market to join them to support a nation-wide roll out required a well-executed headhunting campaign, a far more detailed exercise than traditional recruitment agency which is our preferred approach.

Using a blend of carefully crafted, dedicated collateral coupled with personal approaches we are seeking to create off-market opportunities for individuals and practices to join the firm. An ongoing project, we are very excited about seeing this develop further over the coming year.
